From Idea to Reality
The Start
After finding growth in these challenges he decided to spread it to other people by starting the first Discomfort Club at NC State. The club started out with 7 friends doing activities like rock climbing and going on runs.

Sparking a Movement
Expansion
Soon after UCF launched their chapter successfully inspiring leaders at other schools like Florida State and Florida International University to launch their own. Our community has now grown to 6 clubs.
Personal Growth Journey
In high school our founder Shire Thompson felt stuck. He decided to start doing uncomfortable challenges like bare foot miles, or stand up comedy which allowed him to grow and build confidence.

Building Momentum
Growth
Over a few years a strong community was built allowing us to scale up to activities like white water rafting and skydiving. This momentum led our second club at UNC Chapel Hill to be formed.
